About Mrs. Cordero-Muir
I graduated from Creighton University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in May of 2016. I completed my Master's of Arts for teachers degree with a major in math through UNL in May of 2021. This will be my sixth year teaching and my fourth year teaching 5th grade!
In the Summer of 2019, I got engaged! I met Ryan at Creighton and he is now a pharmacist at Walgreens. On July 8, 2021, Ryan and I got married! This is why my name is now hyphenated to Mrs. Cordero-Muir, but you can call me Mrs. Cordero!
I am originally from Tucson, Arizona where I lived with my 2 older sisters, 1 older brother, and 1 younger sister. My oldest sister has 4 sons, my nephews: Calvin, Linus, Simon, and August. My siblings, parents, and nephews all live in Arizona, and I miss them dearly!
I love the season of autumn so much because I love the changing of the leaves. Leaves don't change colors in the desert!
I enjoy playing soccer, reading, hiking, riding my bike, crafting, playing video games, swimming, and watching movies!
I did not know I wanted to be a teacher my whole life. I started my college education with the intent to major in Social Work. However, after taking a single education class, I realized that being in the classroom was for me. My professor told me that he saw how natural teaching came to me, and it felt so right. Education is my passion and I absolutely love to teach. Knowledge is so powerful; I pride myself in constantly learning new information. I believe knowledge is a solid way to make a difference in the world.
This year, I hope to expand and challenge the minds and characters of your children. I want to facilitate their learning as they delve into subjects like decimals and fractions, argumentative essays, the solar system, and problem and solution.
Thank you for letting me be a part of your child's education journey, I cannot wait!
